Your Laptop Won't Boot and the Drive Has Your Work on It — What Can Actually Be Recovered

Our workshop handles logical and physical data recovery — accidental deletion, formatted partitions, water-damaged boards, NVMe controller failure, and encrypted drive recovery (BitLocker, FileVault). Workshop-only. No recovery, no charge. Turnaround: 24 hours for logical cases, up to 7 days for physical.

Data loss is time-sensitive. Every power cycle on a failing drive risks overwriting recoverable sectors. If your drive is making clicking sounds, the laptop is not booting, or you suspect physical damage — do not run any recovery software on the device. Contact Laptop Service Center Hyderabad immediately on +91 97057 77417 for a viability assessment before further attempts.

If you hear clicking or grinding: This indicates a failing read/write head. Power down immediately and do not attempt to power on again. Physical drives with head failure require cleanroom intervention — continued operation causes irreversible platter damage.

Data Loss Scenarios We Handle

Each scenario below calls for a different recovery methodology. We assess the case type first — before any recovery attempt.

Accidental deletion and formatted partitions

Logical recovery — the underlying data remains on the NAND until overwritten. We image the drive to a clean medium first, then run sector-level reconstruction. Success rate is high if the drive has not been written to after the deletion event.

Water damage data extraction

Liquid ingress corrodes the PCB and power traces, preventing normal drive access. Our workshop stabilises the board, cleans corrosion from connector pads, and attempts to restore the power path sufficiently to read the NAND directly. The storage chips themselves are frequently undamaged.

NVMe and SSD controller failure

Modern PCIe Gen 4 NVMe drives (Samsung 990 Pro, WD Black SN850X, SK Hynix P41) can fail at the controller level — the NAND chips are intact but inaccessible. We read the NAND chips directly using dedicated readers and reconstruct the data.

Encrypted drive recovery — BitLocker and FileVault

Encrypted drive recovery requires the recovery key. BitLocker keys are stored in your Microsoft account or Active Directory; FileVault keys are tied to your Apple ID. We recover the data once the key is confirmed — and advise on key retrieval channels if you have misplaced it.

MacBook M-series — soldered SSD recovery

MacBook Pro and Air (M1, M2, M3) have NAND chips soldered directly to the logic board. Recovery requires board-level chip reading. Apple's secure enclave ties the encryption key to the chip itself — recovery is possible if the logic board's controller is functional and the Apple ID recovery key is available.

Drive head failure

Applies to older mechanical HDDs still found in pre-2018 laptops. A clicking sound indicates read/write head failure. Recovery requires donor-head transplant in a cleanroom environment. We assess viability and provide a written quotation before any physical intervention.

Workshop Process — Intake to Verified Delivery

  • 1
Initial consultation — stop all writes first Call or WhatsApp immediately. An engineer advises whether to power down the device, which recovery software to avoid, and what information to gather (BitLocker key ID, Apple ID, last-known backup date).
  • 2
Device collection or drop-off Our engineer collects from your Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, HiTec City, or Gachibowli address — or you may bring the device to our Secunderabad workshop. The device is handled under a documented chain-of-custody protocol.
  • 3
Non-destructive viability assessment We image or examine the drive without writing to it — read-only access only. The assessment determines whether the fault is logical or physical and estimates the recovery probability. We report findings before any billable work begins.
  • 4
Written quotation — proceed or no charge Based on the assessment, we issue a written quotation with a realistic recovery probability and cost. If recovery is not viable, we declare that in writing and no charge is raised. Proceed only on your explicit authorisation.
  • 5
Recovery operation Logical cases: raw sector imaging, file-system reconstruction, deleted-file carving. Physical cases: board stabilisation, chip reading, NAND reconstruction. Each step is documented.
  • 6
Data verification and secure delivery Recovered data is verified against the client's priority file list before delivery. Data is returned on a clean external drive or via secure encrypted transfer — your choice. Original device and storage are returned with the recovered media.

Device Collection — Hyderabad Zones

All data recovery is performed at our Secunderabad workshop. Our engineers collect devices from these neighborhoods — or you may bring the device directly to avoid any delay.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between logical and physical data recovery?

Logical recovery addresses software-layer data loss — accidental deletion, formatted partitions, corrupted file systems, or failed OS updates. The storage hardware is intact; data is recovered by scanning raw sectors and reconstructing file structures. Physical recovery is required when the storage hardware itself has failed — drive head failure, controller board damage, or NAND chip degradation. Physical recovery requires cleanroom-level or board-level intervention and typically takes longer and costs more.

Can you recover data from a MacBook with a soldered M-series SSD?

MacBook Pro and MacBook Air from M1 onwards have the SSD NAND chips soldered directly to the logic board — there is no removable drive to extract. Recovery requires reading the NAND chips directly at the board level, using specialised readers. Apple's T2 and M-series secure-enclave encryption (FileVault 2 with hardware key) means data is recoverable only if the original Apple ID recovery key or institutional MDM key is available. We discuss the feasibility and limitations transparently before any work begins.

My laptop suffered water damage — can you still recover the data?

Water damage data recovery is possible in many cases, even when the board no longer powers on. The storage chips themselves are often undamaged — it is the power delivery or corrosion on the board that prevents access. Our workshop cleans the board, stabilises the power path, and attempts to read the storage. Where the NAND chips are intact, recovery rates are high. We issue a viability assessment before quoting.

Can you recover BitLocker or FileVault encrypted drives?

Encrypted drive recovery requires the recovery key — the 48-digit BitLocker recovery key stored in your Microsoft account or Active Directory, or the FileVault recovery key from your Apple ID. Without the key, AES-256 encryption cannot be bypassed. If you have the key, we recover the data in the same workflow as an unencrypted drive. If you have lost the key, we can advise on Microsoft/Apple account recovery channels.

How long does data recovery take?

Logical recovery from an intact NVMe or SSD typically takes 24 to 48 hours. Physical recovery involving board-level work, NAND chip reading, or head-failure cases takes 3 to 7 working days depending on case complexity. We provide a realistic timeline at the diagnostic stage and update you via WhatsApp or phone call at each milestone.

What is your policy if data cannot be recovered?

If recovery is not viable — due to severe physical damage, irreversible encryption without a key, or complete NAND failure — we declare that outcome in writing and no service charge is raised for the recovery attempt itself. The diagnostic assessment is carried out at no charge. If we cannot recover your data, you pay nothing.
